OMG! Our first Wine Tasting Event!
On a warm fall day in October, Love and Vines had a big night! We hosted our first Wine Tasting, featuring the wines of Cavender Creek Vineyards. Cavender Creek is a local vineyard in Dahlonega, Georgia.
We invited family and friends to share in this occasion with us and to get some honest feedback, that we knew would be coming from a place of love.
I was able to practice my skills on the wine front and my brothers were able to hone their already strong skills in catering and production.
We brought in the skills of an amazing event planner, who I have had the honor of knowing and calling a best friend for over 20 years. Ms. Anika Bowles-Pinkney of Thought That Counts Events. She brought another level of elegance and sophistication to our event.
It was a true labor of love and family. We could not have had a successful night without each other.
The wines of Cavender Creek paired very well with our menu:
Ginger Prawn with Pineapple and Olive Oil Marinade – Paired with 2014 Petite Manseng (80% Petite Manseng and 20% Viognier light in body with tropical notes and nice acidity)
Grilled Salmon with Balsamic Butter Sauce – Paired with Jackass Red (80% Norton and 20% Touriga Nacioanl – Medium bodied red with dry finish)
Thai-Style Grilled Steak with Dry Chili Dipping Sauce – Paired with Dulcinea White (100% Petite Manseng – Delicate Semi Sweet White – beautiful nose and smooth finish)
We are so proud of what we accomplished that night and are looking forward to our next event.
